Alkaline Kraft Lignin Products

Our product is a purified alkaline kraft lignin produced from kraft pulp mill black liquor. It is based on real industrial kraft lignin and processed using a mechanical final purification step, without acid precipitation or chemical modification in the final separation and purification stage.

The result is a clean kraft lignin product that retains the sodium naturally bound to the lignin molecule during the kraft pulping process. This gives the product its alkaline character, with a typical pH of around 10.

This alkaline form offers several practical advantages. The product has excellent water solubility (when used as dry) and is especially well-suited for applications and upgrading routes where alkaline conditions are beneficial or already part of the process. This makes it a strong drop-in candidate for various end-use applications, formulation work, and further chemical or material upgrading processes.

Our bulk product is supplied in liquid form, but the product is also available as a dry powder or granulate. Depending on the application and research need, the product can be tailored on a case-by-case basis in terms of dry matter content, particle size and pH.
