Polyurethane foams
Lignin, an abundant but underutilized biopolymer, represents a valuable resource with a huge potential to replace fossil-based products across various industries. When used in polyurethane foams, lignin can serve as a partial replacement for polyols or as a sustainable filler. Incorporating lignin into PU formulations can enhance properties like flame resistance, dimensional stability and insulating capability, while also reducing costs and improving the sustainability of the final product.
