Lignin – Nature’s glue

Lignin, often hailed as nature’s glue, stands as the second most abundant polymer in the natural world. Found in plant cell walls, it plays a crucial role in providing structural support to plants. In the Kraft pulping process, lignin is dissolved and separated from solid fibers. The lignin is then mainly burned for energy. Lignin has such a high energy value that most pulp mills have a large surplus of energy.
LignEasy separates a portion of the surplus lignin from the pulp mill’s side stream, refining it into various kinds of liquid and solid products, which can be further tailored – depending on the end-use. Thus, unlocking the potential of lignin use in a variety of industries.
